Plantec was born as a pioneer in 1990. We were the first in selecting rose varieties in Latin America for crops in this region and we represent 5 rose breeders.
Our work allows us to offer a wide collection of varieties entering the market with new shapes and new colors every year.
Our Representatives send us approximately 6,000 codes per year, of which after a detailed evaluation and selection procedure, we choose the best. This implies that the varieties we select have passed trials and tests in our new vase life laboratory, in soil and hydroponic cultivation, under different geographical conditions and heights and even in sowing in different countries.
For this evaluation process we have two Show Rooms or Experimental Areas in Cayambe at the Flores Verdes company and in Yaruquí at our own PLANTEC farm located in San José de Oyambarillo.
All this has been achieved with the support of a top-level administrative and technical team, with which we have also been able to gain the trust, credibility and recognition of our clients.
Our policy is that the only way we can measure our success is in the continuity and growth of our customers in our varieties.
We are the largest propagator of rose plants in Latin America, we have the most modern facilities that allow us to control all the parameters, such as humidity, temperature and luminosity, to deliver the best product.
Our plants undergo a production process with added value in what we do, such as our hardening area, which allows acclimatization of the material before being delivered to the end customer.
We produce plants starting from meristematic rootstocks grown in hydroponics, with which we can offer the healthiest and most vigorous plants on the market, meeting the highest international standards.
Additionally, the trust placed by the Breeders we represent allows us to deliver to our clients the best plant material and the newest varieties.
The varieties and/or codes selected from 2017 are grown in hydroponics, guaranteeing that said material is never in contact with the soil, obtaining a more reliable material than in the past.
We have a rigorous disinfection system that controls everything from the water to the equipment and tools we use in our propagation through a rigorous audit of each of our processes.
Together with Plant Research Overberg – PRO Rootstocks – we are evaluating new rootstocks developed by this company in Holland. So far, we have excellent results in the tests and trials carried out with different clients and different varieties under their specific growing conditions.
